According to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris no one has been arrested over the 3-month quit notice given Igbos by northerners.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, he said the directive by Kaduna state governor for the arrest of representative of the group, would be carried out as far as there were evidence of infringement of the law.

He stated that, “the threat constituted subversive activities to the security of the country.”

He also ordered Police Zonal Commands and State Commands beef up security and intelligence gathering to forestall any breakdown of law and order following the joint statement issued by the group.’
