Former Real Madrid President Claims Mourinho Could Return Next Season

Jose Mourinho has been out of management since being sacked by Manchester United last December.

The Special One departed Old Trafford after just two and a half seasons in charge.

His dismissal was hardly a surprise though, considering Man United's form in the first half of this campaign.

Mourinho led the club to just seven wins from 17 Premier League games, leaving them 19 points behind the leaders and far behind the top four. He was shown the door a week before Christmas.

Of course, we all know how well United have been doing since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over on an interim basis, but we haven't seen or heard much about Mourinho.

Aside from a few appearances as a pundit on beIN Sports, the Portuguese coach has not been in the public eye.

He's also remained tight-lipped about his managerial future.

It's expected that he'll return to the dugout next season, but it's unclear as to where.

Interestingly though, former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon has predicted that Mourinho will be making a sensational return to the Bernabeu.

Calderon, who was on the board at Real between 2001 and 2006 before becoming President of the club between 2006 and 2009, has tweeted a massive prediction.

"I have a feeling, and maybe a little more, that Mourinho will be on the Real Madrid bench next season," he wrote two days ago.

Less than 24 hours later, he followed up that statement by tweeting "many chances for Mourinho to be, next season, on [the] Real Madrid bench. Negotiations in process."

Wow. That's a huge claim and if it's actually happening, one he probably shouldn't be posting all over Twitter. Only time will tell if it's true though.

Mourinho spent three seasons in charge of Los Blancos and during that time, won La Liga and the Copa del Rey, as well as the Spanish Super Cup.

Should he return next season, as Calderon is suggesting, then surely it's Champions League glory that he'll be chasing.
