Godwin Emefiele was appointed the governor of Nigeria's apex bank, Central Bank of Nigeria, in 2014 by the Goodluck Jonathan government and has served under President Buhari till date.

A few hours ago, it was revealed that he has been told to vacate his seat via a letter delivered from the Federal Government with two weeks to put his affairs in order.

Although the CBN spokesman has refuted claims of his sack, Nigerians have been on social media reacting to the news of his termination.
