247NNU had reported earlier on Sunday morning that an Ethiopian Airlines flight between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, crashed, killing 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard.

Among the victims was Nigerian columnist and scholar, Pius Adesanmi, who till his death was a lecturer at Carleton University in Canada.

Tributes continue to pour inn as people pay their respects to the fallen icon on social media and many have flocked to his Facebook page where few hours before the ill fated flight he posted a picture with the caption: If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me - Psalm 139:9-10
