Enugu Decides: PDP Thanks Residents, Invites Opposition Candidates

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Enugu State chapter has lauded the people of the State over the support to the party during last Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

It was reported that the PDP won the governorship and swept the 24 House of Assembly positions.

The Party spoke through Barr. Nana Ogbodo, Director of Communications, PDP Campaign Organization.

He called on all those who lost in the elections to join hands with the party in moving the state forward.

His statement read, “We once again hereby express our profound gratitude to the good people of our dear state for your immense support to our great party, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), and all our candidates at the last Saturday, 9th March 2019 elections as underscored by the overwhelming victories recorded at the polls.

“It is inspiring to note the enthusiasm inherent in your support across the 17 LGAs and 260 Wards, as you arrived early enough at your various Polling Units to vote massively for the PDP.

“Your mandate is a testimony to your continued confidence in the PDP and indeed in our indefatigable Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, whose tenure has by your votes been renewed. You have by this uncommon gesture challenged His Excellency to surpass even his present very high profile records of achievements when he is inaugurated to commence his second term come May 29th 2019.

“To our brothers and sisters who participated in the process as contestants on other parties platforms, we commend them for their faith in our democratic process and for enriching the democratic exercise. We hereby invite them to join hands with His Excellency, the Governor to move Enugu State to higher levels of development and good governance.”
