Barely 48 hours after Media and Publicity Director-General of Ashiru/Katung Campaign Organisation was allegedly arrested by men of DSS, erstwhile Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Yaro Makama Rigachikun has been arrested.

Unlike Ben Bako whose arrest was said to be from Abuja, Rigachikun, whereabouts, although he was arrested in Kaduna, were unknown by his party members as at the time of filing this report.

A PDP youth leader and Deputy Director-General (Media and Publicity), Ashiru/Katung Campaign Organisation, Danjuma Sarki, confirmed to news correspondent on Monday afternoon that, he was reportedly invited to police headquarters in the state and was subsequently arrested.

Spokesperson of the PDP in Kaduna, Aberah Catoh, who also confirmed the development, said the reason for the arrest was still sketchy.

His arrest, however, may not be unconnected to campaign statements which might have been perceived to be hate speech.

Efforts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Yakubu Sabo, could not be established as he did not answer several calls put to his mobile line.

The PDP had on Sunday, raised the alarm over the alleged plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to arrest several of its top members within a week to the presidential election.
