Sowore Opens Up On Soyinka's Support For Presidency
Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has refused to endorse Sahara Reporters publisher and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore.Sowore revealed this in a post on Instagram on Sunday.
This comes less than a week after Soyinka had asked Nigerians not to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari or ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
Sowore said, “Prof. Wole Soyinka has expressed to me in private his decision to back a different candidate.
“We should therefore not be surprised should he choose to announce this.
Soyinka is expected to announce his preferred candidate this week.
There were reports last week that he would support either Sowore or Prof. Kingsley Moghalu of the Young Progressives Party.
Meanwhile, the former presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, is expected to hold a press conference on Monday where she will also reveal her preferred candidate.
The candidate will be the product of a coalition which Prof. Soyinka will endorse.
