Shehu Sani Under Fire For Supporting Dino Melaye

Twitter followers of Senator Shehu Sani have taken him to task over his attempt to link the travails of Senator Dino Melaye to the boos and jeers with which some senators greeted President Muhammadu Buhari during his 2019 budget presentation to the joint sitting of the National Assembly last December.

Dino Melaye is currently on hospital admission and under the watch of the Police, having suddenly taken ill following his surrender to the Police last Friday.

Policemen had kept an eight-day vigil on Dino Melaye’s residence, having allegedly refused to honour Police invitation to come and provide explanations concerning his role in what has been described as “attempted culpable homicide” on a Police sergeant.

Sani had taken to his verified Twitter handle, @ShehuSani, on Sunday afternoon, explaining that Melaye was absent at Buhari’s budget presentation, suggesting that the Kogi West lawmaker’s arrest was politically-motivated.

Senator Sani had tweeted:
