Yesterday saw an end to the tenure of Ibrahim Idris as the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force.

Weeks prior to his retirement, various groups had called for an end to his tenure for the sole reason that the police force reached an "all-time low" during his administration.

Most vocal of the groups were the opposition political parties to the ruling APC who even threatened to pull out of the Peace Accord signed ahead of the February 16 elections.

The Nigerian social media space is awash with reactions to his retirement and his replacement by Adamu Mohammed.
