SURPRISING! See How This Candidate Plans To “Deal” With Okorocha And Other Past Leaders Of Imo State

A human rights activist and governorship candidate of Reform and Advancement Party in Imo State, Kingdom Okere, has assured the citizens of the State of his plans to implement serious reforms if he is elected into office.

He also promised to establish an anti-grant agency if elected the next governor of the state to recover the mismanaged funds of the State and fight other financial crimes.

Okere, who spoke in Owerri, the capital, said that the establishment of the anti-graft agency would champion a campaign for recovery of every kobo “stolen from the state treasury”.

The governorship candidate said that he would within the first one week of being sworn in, personally send a bill for the establishment of the agency to the state House of Assembly.

He said, “Upon our inauguration, I shall personally draft a bill and send to the Imo State House of Assembly to establish Imo Economic Financial And Other Corrupt-Related Offences Commission.

“It will be saddled with the responsibility of recovering every kobo stolen from Imo’s treasury since the inception of democracy in 1999, prosecute the looters and send them to prison.

“IEFCOC shall  unlike the EFCC and the ICPC, be statutorily empowered to seize properties acquired with stolen Imo resources and such seizure shall be incidental to arrest and prosecution of the looter, and the property will be permanently forfeited to Imo people upon conviction of the looters.

“The agency will adopt measures to identify, trace, freeze, confiscate, and seize every kobo stolen from Imo treasury, from 1999 till date and return same to Imo coffers.

“I will set up a commission to examine the mismanagement of Imo LGA resources through the Transition Committee Chairmen.

“The payment of salary and pension, provision of basics amenities, and fixing of roads, the protection of life and property of Imo people are not campaign promises, but primary responsibility and obligation of every government.”
