No plans to drop me as APC candidate, says Shekarau

A former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, has refuted rumour that the All Progressive Congress is plotting to replace him as the party’s senatorial candidate for Kano Central.

Dismissing the reports through his spokesman, Ghali Sadiq, Shakarau urged the people of Kano to disregard the rumour, stressing that the former minister of education was fully prepared for the 2019 election and would emerge victorious.

He said, “There have been funny insinuations on the Internet by certain individuals, especially opposition party members, who are not happy with the candidacy of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau. Shekarau is still the APC senatorial candidate for Kano Central senatorial district and by the grace of God, we are going to win the election, in 2019.’’

Recall that a national daily recently reported that there was a plot to remove Shekarau, linking the move to the alleged criminal case against him by the EFCC.
