Politicians competing on the platforms of various political parties in Lagos State appear to have disregarded the laws regulating the distribution of posters, as they have swamped public spaces with posters announcing their intentions.Our correspondent who moved round various parts of the state, from the mainland to the island, reports that politicians did not spare any space, as they had their posters on privately-owned buildings, streetlight poles, bridges, and other public structures.
It may be recalled that the Bola Tinubu administration had, in 2006, inaugurated a law that banned indiscriminate posting of materials in Lagos State, with the Lagos State Signage & Advertisement Agency saddled with the duty of controlling the pasting and display of posters on public structures and highways.
