Man dies of internal bleeding after soldiers’ torture in Plateau

Some security operatives have allegedly tortured a man in Plateau State till he died.

According to reports, the man, simply identified as Atajan Amadu, allegedly died of internal bleeding after some security operatives attached to Operation Safe Haven, keeping the peace in Plateau State, tortured him over a missing phone in Sha community.

He died at Bokkos General hospital.

A resident said Atajan was tortured after being invited for questioning by the military personnel after he allegedly used his friend’s phone to take pictures at a secondary school graduation ceremony, but could not return it.

He was said to have explained to the security operatives that he used the phone but handed it to an unidentified individual who requested to use it to also take pictures but disappeared with it.
