The Oyo State Government early on Sunday morning stormed the Music House from which the Fresh FM belonging to artiste, Yinka Ayefele, operated.

Government bulldozers arrived the Challenge area of Ibadan where the building was located and pulled it down.

The government carried out the demolition despite a court injunction secured by Ayefele restraining the government from carrying out the exercise.

According to Yinka Ayefele's media aide, David Ajiboye he said, 'the planned demolition of the edifice which houses his principal’s radio station, Fresh FM, and music studio in Oyo state was politically motivated.'

The Senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben Bruce, has condemned the act of Oyo state governtmet for demolishing a Radio station.

He wrote: 'If Yinka Ayefele had built that radio station in England or America, he would have received an award. He built it in Nigeria to provide jobs and he received bulldozers instead. Yet we say we want investors.'

It also got the attention of former vice president and presidential aspirant of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar who took to his social page to condemn the act and feel so saddened.

The reports of the demolition of a radio station in Oyo fills me with a deep sadness. Press freedom is sacrosanct.
