The operation was paused yesterday as rain in the Chiang Rai region threatened to raise water levels inside the Tham Luang Nang Non cave once again after four of the boys were brought to the surface on Sunday.
However, rain overnight has not hampered rescue efforts with more boys being brought to the surface this afternoon.
So far four have been rescued today, according to news agency Reuters.
Rescuers in northern Thailand have now brought four people out of the cave tonight. The first emerged at 4.30pm (local time). The second at 6pm.
The chief running the rescue operation said some of the first children rescued are being treated in hospital.
One of them was reported to have asked for food after telling authorities, “I’m hungry” and requesting a pad kra pao - a popular Thai meat dish with basil.
Ambulances leave cave site en route to hospital
Two more ambulances just left the cave entrance. Presumed - but not confirmed - to have the latest evacuees. One could even have two of the boys on board after the flurry of rescues.
More could be coming too, earlier today the governor said the rescue attempt would be aiming to get ‘at least’ as many as yesterday out.
Four boys remain trapped
A witness near the rescue operation has told news agency Reuters that EIGHT boys have been rescued from the cave - four today and four yesterday. Four remain trapped in the cave with their football coach. More as we get it.
Rescued boys being flown to hospital
The boys who have been rescued today are being flown to a hospital nearby.
Thai officials are being very careful to avoid photographs of the boys as they finally see the surface for the first time in two weeks.
It is hoped one more boy be announced as rescued shortly, bringing the total to eight. With four still trapped along with their football coach.
Seventh boy - third today - rescued from cave
It is being reported that a third boy has been rescued from the cave in Thailand - bringing it to a total of seven.
There is been no word on their condition at this stage and they are being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
It is though that the two most recently rescued are being assessed in medical tent not too far from mouth of cave, somewhere blocked off from the media.
'Sixth boy rescued from cave' - reports
A sixth boy has been rescued from the cave, with six more still to go plus their football coach.
The boy is being treated by medics at the field hospital, according to local reports.
It is expected he will then be taken to the Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital in Chiang Rai province, where the others who have been rescued are currently receiving treatment.
Four rescued boys 'in good health and demanding fried rice'
The first four boys rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand were in good health and demanding fried rice in hospital on Monday, the head of the rescue team said, as divers resumed operations to bring out the remaining members of the group.
The bid to rescue the boys - aged between 11 and 16 - and their 25-year-old soccer coach got going again after a break late on Sunday to replenish the team’s oxygen supplies and make other preparations deep inside the cave.
The four boys, rescued on Sunday, were flown by helicopter from the Tham Luang cave to the Chiang Rai Prachanukroh hospital, located at the heart of Chiang Rai province, about 70 km (40 miles) away.
Rescued boy 'flown to hospital' for treatment
According to reports at the scene the fifth boy rescued from the cave has been flown to hospital for treatment. His condition is not known at this stage.
One reporter has said that another police escort has moved into position, suggesting that a sixth boy could soon be saved.
An ambulance rushed past the entrance to the cave and about five minutes later a helicopter flew over with cheers from Thai volunteers.
