JUST IN: Nigerian MP In The UK, Fiona Onasanya, To Stand Trial For Perverting The Course Of Justice

A Labour rising star is to stand trial charged with perverting the course of justice, The Sun can reveal.

Peterborough MP Fiona Onasanya appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 12, and is due back early next month.

Onasanya was elected to the House of Commons in last year’s snap election, defeating Conservative Stewart Jackson.

The 34-year-old is alleged to have committed the offence in Cambridgeshire, police have confirmed.

She hit the headlines in November 2017 after she slipped in lyrics by YouTube rapper Big Shaq into a House of Commons speech.

None of her fellow MPs noticed when Ms Onasanya said “2 plus 2 is 4, minus 3 is 1 - quick maths” from the song and viral sensation “Mans Not Hot” in a debate about the Budget.
