Former American actress, Meghan Markle on Thursday confirmed that her father would not be attending her wedding to Prince Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth.
Markle’s father, Thomas is expected to walk his daughter down the aisle at the glittering ceremony at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday.
However, the former lighting director for TV soaps and sitcoms earlier this week gave series of contradictory statements about her dad’s attendance at the royal wedding.
According to TMZ.com, Meghan’s dad had undergone heart surgery on Wednesday.
But reacting, Meghan in a statement issued by Kensintong Palace said, “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” Meghan Markle said in a statement.
“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
Saturday’s wedding will be a great event of British pageantry, likely to attract a huge audience.
