They Want To Kill Me, They've Arrested My Brother - Dino Melaye Laments As Police Lay Siege On His Home

Embattled Senator Dino Melaye who was arrested in Abuja yesterday, has cried out that his brother has also been arrested as armed riot policemen laid siege on his Maitama, Abuja residence.

We reported on Monday that Senator Dino Melaye was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by Immigration officers, and they attempted to seize the passport of the senator who was on his way to Morocco.

While speaking to a correspondent, the lawmaker who is representing Kogi West at the Senate, revealed that he was later released, adding that some armed riot policemen laid siege to his home at Shanga Street, Maitama in Abuja in a bid to arrest him again.

"Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile police men have just stormed My residence in Maitama, Abuja. All roads leading to House has been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry & exit of the road. They currently laid siege on in and around The house," Dino posted on Twitter.

It was gathered that the security operatives blocked one end of the street with a Toyota Hiace bus with tinted glasses and Abuja number plate, RSH 193 TP, and a pick-up at the other end.

They also prevented persons in the building from going out, but later allowed family members, friends and guests to enter and exit the premises.
