Man Arrested For Defaming Lawmaker With Fake Pregnancy

One Emmanuel Udo has been arraigned by the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, for defaming a House of Representatives member, Dr. Michael Enyong.

Udo was arrested through the joint effort of the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, and the Police. He was arraigned before Akwa Ibom Magistrates’ Court on one count of defamation of character and granted bail in the sum of N500,000.

It was gathered that Udo had operated a fake Facebook account with the name Emem Etina and claimed that Enyong impregnated a non-existing Regina Christopher.

He had stolen a photo of a pregnant Cameroonian woman, Esther Sabouangis who was receiving a preventive malaria medicine, from the WHO’s website and claimed that the photograph was that of Regina Christopher, whom he falsely said was impregnated by Enyong.
