A popular baseball player has been caught on camera repeatedly slapping his own girlfriend as he drags her down some stairs.

Danny Vasquez was caught slapping his woman

A very disturbing CCTV footage has emerged, showing Danry Vasquez, a 24-year-old popular professional baseball player repeatedly beating his girlfriend in a violent attack has emerged.

According to a report by The Sun UK, Danry Vasquez was dropped from his Pennsylvania team after the horrific clip was published by a Texas police department on Wednesday.

The horrific video shows the Venezuelan outfielder suddenly lash out at the woman and smack her across the face with the back of his hand.

He then drags her down a set of stairs by her hair before hitting her multiple times as she puts her arms up in self-defence.

At one point she is seen slumping to the floor in a heap as Vasquez picks up her glasses and forcibly pulls her up by her arm before shoving the spectacles back on her face.

The August 2016 assault happened at Whataburger Field, the home ground of Corpus Christi Hooks - the team Vasquez was playing for at the time, according to KRIS-TV.

The team, which is affiliated with the Houston Astros - the winners of last year’s World Series - suspended him days after the incident.

Officials had the video at the time of the arrest but it has only been made public after an open records request by KRIS-TV this week.

Vasquez’s case reportedly was dismissed earlier this month after he completed the ordered anger management courses.

The Lancaster Barnstormers, a professional team in the Atlantic League that had signed Vasquez following the incident, announced on Facebook on Wednesday that it was now cutting ties.

Manager Ross Peeples said: “There is no choice but to sever the relationship.

“Neither I, nor the Barnstormers’ organisation as a whole, can condone or associate with that behaviour.”
