According to reports, this is President Buhari’s first visit to the state since the New Year killings which claimed the lives of over 70 people.
According to Channels Television, President Buhari, who arrived Makurdi Airport at 10:43 a.m. held the meeting at the Government House in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
The meeting had in attendance, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and other top government officials in the state.
Groups present at the meeting include representatives of Miyetti Allah Group, representatives of farmers in Benue State, Benue State Livestock guard, Benue Joint Sociocultural Group Mzough U-Tiv, among others.
