IGP Ibrahim Idris orders withdrawal of policemen from VIPs

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, on Monday ordered the immediate withdrawal of police officers attached to some political office holders and very important personalities, VIPs, in the country.

Recall that the IGP had stated that the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has perfected plans to withdraw its mobile personnel attached to important personalities in the country back to the barracks.

Recall that last June, during an interactive session with a group of civil society organisations under the auspices of, “The Situation Room’’ in Abuja, Idris had stated that the measure was intended to bring the police closer to Nigerians.
