EPL: Mourinho ready to make big-money move for Barcelona’s Umtiti

Manchester United will make a push for Samuel Umtiti this summer, with Jose Mourinho being keen on landing the Barcelona’s central defender.

According to Sport, Umtiti will be offered €9million per season in a bid to lure him to Old Trafford.

Mourinho is eager to see the France international partner, Eric Bailly at the back for the Red Devils, if the two sides can agree on a fee.

However, the former Lyon man wants to remain at the Nou Camp, though, with his contract set to expire in 2021.

Umtiti, 24, is demanding a wage increase in line with his substantial development over the past year, having established himself as one of the game’s premier defenders.

Mourinho is believed to be ready to offload Chris Smalling and Phil Jones this summer, as he seeks to freshen up his backline.
