C'River Government To Use N18bn To Buy Aeroplane And Helicopter This Year
The Cross River state government has budgeted eighteen billion naira (N18bn) for the purchase of aircraft, ferry sea bus and helicopter in 2018.
These were contained in the report of the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the Cross River State of Assembly signed by Rt Hon Eteng Jonah Williams.
The committee said, “N124, 929, 773, 500 was provided for capital expenditure. Out of this, N87, 707, 589, 500 was for feasibility study, soil investigation and design of the Bakassi deep sea port.
“Dredging of the deep sea port will take N15, 000, 000 while N6, 000, 000, 000, N7, 000, 000, 000 and N5, 000, 000, 000 are for procurement of ferry sea bus, aircraft and helicopter respectively”.
The committee however, warned that provisions proposed for projects in all MDAs should be approved by the State House of Assembly.
