He was arrested after a video shared by the actress on Facebook went viral and was reported to police authorities.
Lagos Force PRO Chike Oti, in a statement confirmed that the officer from Ajiwe police station has been arrested.
In the viral video, Joju could be heard yelling at the policeman for scratching her car, after which the policeman broke her car windows while spraying tear gas on her.
The newly appointed Lagos PPRO, Chike Oti, while reacting to the incident in a video shared by rapper, Ruggedman, hailed Nigerians who tagged him on the video on Facebook after the incident.
According to him, he was in a meeting when he got a hold of the video and swung into action.
He said “At the sit down with the police and concerned youths this morning, I got loads of tags on the Video of an officer assaulting actress April Muse.
“Just an hour after, the officer from Ajiwe police station that assaulted actress April Muse has been arrested.
“The actress Muse is at the station giving her statement as we speak.
“Nigerians are urged not to hesitate to report offending officers in order to help police force.
“We all need to do our best to keep exposing such officers whether SARS or not.
“We all need to play our part in this matter to End SARS Brutality and Make Police our friend”
