A man's dead body has been found on the road on Christmas day, sparking serious confusion and panic in the area.

The dead body of a man has been found on a country lane in the United Kingdom on Christmas morning, sparking a murder investigation.

According to The Sun UK, police officers were called to Dyehouse Lane, in Rochdale, at around 8.15am yesterday where the unidentified victim was discovered.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place in the next 24 hours.

Detective Chief Superint, Mary Doyle from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "We have a full team of detectives working to find out who the man is and what happened to him.

"We are hoping members of the public can help us work out this man's last moments.

"If you have any information that you think might help us, no matter how small, please do get in touch."

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They are also looking for help in finding out who the victim is.
