A spokesperson to former Nigerian president who was invited for an event at the Aso Rock villa today, has revealed how he was turned back by the security detail at the gate.

Olusegun Adeniyi

Olusegun Adeniyi‏ who is the spokesperson to late President Umaru Yar’Adua, has taken to his Twitter page (@Olusegunverdict) and revealed how he was on Thursday, denied access into Aso Villa for an event he was invited.

Adeniyi, who is the current chairman of ThisDay newspaper editorial board, said he was invited to a book launch by Garba Shehu, spokesperson to President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that he misplaced his invitation card and was turned back.

The former presidential aide said even though he was recognised at the Villa gate, one of the security men denied him access for not presenting the card, he wrote.

“Garba Shehu invited me for book launch at Villa. Misplaced IV. Got to villa, recognised by security men but one insisted I couldn’t go on. Real Shame. Going back.”
