Toke Makinwa reacts to condemnation of divorcees

Nigerian radio personality and television host, Toke Makinwa, has condemned ‘shaming’ of divorcees in Nigeria.

The media personality urged Nigerians to stop the act, stressing that no one prays to be in that situation.

She said this in reaction to a tweet by a fan who said Timi Dakolo has the right to talk about marriage because he is still married while Toke Makinwa is no longer in a union.

Toke in reply tweeted: “The ultimate shaming of people who have or are going through this thing called ‘Divorce’ must stop.

“No one prays it to happen, life happens.

“You deal the hand that you’ve been dealt and keep it moving.

Toke Makinwa’s marriage to Maje Ayida was officially dissolved on October 5, 2017 by Igbosere High Court in Lagos.
