My First Born will Grow Up to be Like Me - Anthony Joshua Talks Parenthood Ahead of Next Fight

Speaking ahead of his next fight, world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua says his son will be hardworking, and always ready to make sacrifices like him.

Anthony Joshua says he is happy for his son to follow in his footsteps and one day take up boxing.

The heavyweight champion, who is notoriously protective of his private life, has opened up about being a father to his two-year-old child.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports: "My first born will grow up to be like me, hard-working and understand sacrifice, because he's the heir to the throne.

"I'll have to nurture him to be tough, wise and make critical decisions. I had to start from the middle using my fists, whilst some people have to start using their feet playing football.

"I'm happy for him to fight, I just want him using his head first."

Joshua turned himself into a household name when he beat Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley to win the WBA and IBO heavyweight titles in April.

"When I watch it back, if I knew what I know now, I would have done much better," said Joshua.

"I still got the win, but I could have done it much easier. There will be a time when I get beaten, and I'll have to show how I bounce back."

Joshua now makes another title defence against Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev later this month at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
