Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted he is “worried” about Marouane Fellaini’s contract stand-off.

Fellaini signed a one-year extension in January, but will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Mourinho is keen for the Belgian midfielder to put pen to paper on a fresh deal, as he will be able to negotiate with other clubs from January 1.

However, there has been little progress in that regard.

Asked about Luke Shaw’s contract situation at his news conference on Friday, Mourinho replied: “I’m worried about Fellaini and not about Luke Shaw, because Fellaini finishes his contract and Luke Shaw doesn’t.”

The 29-year-old will miss Tottenham’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday with a knee problem.
