Birthday Celebration Turns Tragedy as Married Man Beats Side-chic to Death in Lagos

A young lady who was said to have visited her lover in a bid to attend a popular nightclub to celebrate her birthday, was beaten to death by the Lagos-based trader.

The operatives of the Nigerian Poice in Lagos state have apprehended a 45-year-old married trader at the popular Ladipo market identified as Victor Umeh over the death of his lover, Happiness in his home in Lagos.

The incident which happened on Saturday at his house at 5/7 Michael Osisipi street off Banjo Oyewele street, saw Umeh brutally beat the deceased to death in his house. He was arrested while trying to do away with her corpse.

It was gathered that the Plateau State-born Happiness was said to have visited Umeh who hails from Orumba South local government in Anambra in a bid to take her to a popular night club to celebrate her birthday.

Things turned sour when Happiness greeted a male friend at the club. This angered Umeh, who reportedly left her at the club.

The deceased however returned to Umeh’s house, to probably plead but was beaten to death in the process.

Umeh whose wife and four kids live in his village attempted to carry her corpse before he was apprehended. The corpse was retrieved from Umeh and deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.
