Britain shows interest to invest in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas

The British High Commissioner, Mr. Paul Arkwright has expressed Britain’s interest in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry, and its readiness to invest in the pipeline infrastructure as well as renewable energy.

Arkwright made this promise when the Group General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr Ndu Ughamadu visited the British High Commission in Abuja.

He said, the British Department for International Trade are interested in the Downstream, Midstream and Upstream sectors, stressing their readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The High Commissioner encouraged the oil sector to liaise with the Federal Government, to organize a roadshow in London, in order to showcase the investment opportunities available to foreign investors in Nigeria’s oil and Gas sector.

In response to the High Commissioner, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s spoke person Mr Ughamadu, who led the NNPC delegation commended the United kingdom for their willingness to liaise with the sector.

He assured that every effort to improve the cordial relationship between the NNPC and the British Department for International Trade will be welcomed and sustained.
