Boko Haram Kills Four Soldiers, Army Arrests Child Terrorists
It was gathered that three other soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries during the incidents.
The affected soldiers, who were on patrol at the time of the incidents, were attached to the 133 Special Forces Battalion.
Following the incidents, troops of the Nigerian Army arrested two minors – Abubakar Aji, 13, and Isah Mustapha, 12, in Kukawa – a village in the state. They confessed to have been working with the terrorist group since 2014.
It was learnt that the minors were allegedly spying on troops’ location at Kukawa when they were arrested.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. -Gen. Sani Usman, who confirmed the incident, said the bodies of the late soldiers, one of whom was an officer, had been evacuated, while the wounded were moved to the military medical facility.
He said, “It is gratifying to also note that three suspected Boko Haram terrorists who planted the IEDs were pursued and neutralised.
“Also, the troops of 23 Brigade rescued a Boko Haram abductee, one Miss Jada Hachaba, and handed her to her relations in Gulak, Adamawa State.”
It was learnt that the two minors arrested for insurgency activities in Kukawa were nabbed by the 8 Division on Thursday.
Usman noted that the minors were undergoing further interrogation.
