See The Face Of Suspects Arrested For Stabbing Abia Resident To Death

Police detectives attached to the Osisioma Police Division in Aba, Abia State have arrested two persons, Ogadimma Elendu and Uchenna Okoro, for allegedly stabbing one Chikezie Amakwe to death at his residence on No. 13 Adaelu Road, Osisioma.

A security source said the suspects were arrested following a complaint made by the deceased neighbor, identified as Chisom Chima, who reported that five armed robbers attacked their residence and stabbed the victim with scissors.

The source said the police operatives investigated the incident and arrested the suspects in connection with the crime, adding that the scissors and one Samsung GSM phone was recovered from them.

It was learnt that the victim was taken to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba, where he was confirmed dead.

Confessing to the crime, Elendu denied stabbing the victim with the scissors, saying that it was a member of the gang now at large, who stabbed the man.

He said, “I was in my house on Sunday when some of my friends came and told me that they wanted to go and collect a certain amount of money from a bakery near the victim’s house and I followed them.

“But when we got there, they asked me to stand at the road and monitor movement for them. I was not the one that stabbed the dead man, it was my friend that did that. God knows that I’m saying the truth.”

Also arrested for an alleged murder was one Joshua Anyanwoke who hails from Ozatta Village in Ukwa West LGA of the State.

It was gathered that he (Anyanwoke) reported himself to the police over a machete cut he gave to his victim, one Paul Ezinwa.

The suspect was said to have gone to the house of the deceased to demand for the payment of N1,200 debt from him, but ended up giving him a deadly cut on the neck after the deceased refused to pay him the money.

It was gathered that police operatives at Obehie Division visited the scene of the crime, while the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

 Oyebade said the command had intensified efforts at arresting other suspects involved in the crime.

He warned members of the public to report their grievances to the appropriate authority for resolution and desist from taking the law into their hands.
