Popular Blogger Alleges Threat To Life

A popular blogger in Bayelsa State, Mr. Bodmas Kemepadei, has raised the alarm over an alleged threat to his life by some unknown persons.

Kemepadei’s travails were said to have begun following his posts and publications on the case of Mr. George Turner, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s political godson, currently under trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The social media publisher, in a statement on Monday issued in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, said he had been receiving threat calls and text messages concerning his posts on his social media platform.

Kemepadei, who described his work as a divine mandate, noted that no amount of threats would stop him from his task of correcting societal ills through his platform.

He said he did not owe anybody any apology for discharging his mandate of exposing ills.

Kemepadei maintained that he would never be deterred in doing what was right, lamenting the crude attitude of some youths in the Niger Delta, who found pleasure in praising persons in power in spite of obvious mismanagement of public resources.

He flayed Ijaw youths for not developing the region and urged the people of the Niger Delta to stop blaming the West and North for the underdevelopment in region.

The blogger, therefore, urged persons in position of authority in the region to render an account of what they did with the resources that came into the region.

He asked persons responsible for the underdevelopment of the Niger Delta region to get ready to face the consequences of their actions and warned that nemesis would catch up with them.
