Liverpool will seriously consider bidding for Kylian Mbappe if the Monaco striker believes the Premier League is a viable destination.
Mbappe is likely to be the subject of the most intense speculation of any player this summer, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and a list of Premier League clubs interested in his signature.
A number of offers have already reportedly been lodged for the France forward, who has previously said he would be more than happy to stay at Monaco.
Reports in Spain claimed that Liverpool had bid £87.7m for Mbappe on Friday, but Paul Joyce of The Times says there has been no ‘official’ approach as yet from Anfield.
L’Equipe claims that the Arsenal boss contacted the Monaco forward and as well as discussing the prospect of joining the Premier League, the pair also spoke about the 18-year-old’s overall career progression.
Wenger’s phone call is his latest effort to bring Mbappe to Arsenal having already visited the striker at his house last year.
Arsenal, however, have been told by Monaco that they will need to pay £130 million in order to sign the France international, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners are also facing strong competition from Real Madrid, who have stepped up their efforts to sign the forward this summer.
It was initially claimed that Madrid would be willing to sign Mbappe this summer and allowing him to remain on loan at Monaco for another season.
