A prodigal son has landed in serious trouble after he reportedly arranged deadly armed robbers to rob his family members.

An 18-year old man, Olanibi Okanlawo has been arrested by the police after he reportedly arranged and led armed robbery gang to his family house to rob members of his family including his own mother.

According to a report by PM Express, the incident happened at about 1.30 am at 16 Oluwakemi street, Ilasamaja area in the  suburb of Lagos where the family house is located. It was gathered that during the robbery, some of the family members including Fumi and Gbemisola were brutally attacked with cutlass and disposed their valuables before they left.

Okanlawo was arrested with one of the gang members, Samuel Remulkun while others escaped with the Camry Car which they used for the operation  lasted for several hours.

According to Police source, they were arrested along Abimbola way in Isolo from where they were escaping after they have successful attacked and rob nine members of the family of their money and properties.

However, while they were escaping a team of Police from Ilasamaja division intercepted them and the two of the suspects were arrested and taken to the Station.

The police also recovered some charms and cutlasses and other dangerous weapons apart from guns they used in during the operation. It was while the suspects were taken to the station that the family members knew that okanlawo was among the robbers.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Okanlawo was the only son in the family before his father who married many wives died nine years ago.
The property their late father left behind was shared equally among the children but Okalawon finished his own and started demanding money from his family members and they refused to give him.

According to him, “I asked for money and non of the family members was ready to give me and I went to Mushin and arranged with my group and rob them.”

The suspects were charged before Isolo Magistrates for the alleged offence  court and they pleaded not guilty. The court ordered them to be remanded in prison custody and asked their counsel to file application for his bail.
The matter was further adjourned till 26 June 2017.
