There is chaos in Ohokobe Mbaocha community following the sad and mysterious death of a waitress at a popular hotel in the state.

Indigenes of Ohokobe Mbaocha Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia north local government area of Abia state, staged a peaceful protest today over the mysterious death of their daughter, Miss Happiness Emehara, who died in a popular hotel (Buri ji) located along Okwuta ibeku road.

According to reports by Abia Facts Newspaper, the irate community members were brandishing placards with different inscriptions, demanded explanation from the management of the hotel on what caused the death of their daughter.

It was gathered that the Late Happiness Emehara was a staff of the hotel before his untimely death on 31st of May, this year.

Speaking on behalf of the irate indigenes of Ohokobe Mbaocha community, Mr. Iyke Ogbuehi said they were protesting to demand explanation on what led to the mysterious demise of happiness Emehara.

Ogubehi vowed that the community would not leave anything unturned to unravel the mystery behind their daughter’s death.

He disclosed that the incident has been reported to the Abia police zone 9.

His words: "We are heard to demand explanation on what caused the death of our daughter, Happiness Emehara in the hotel, because since the demise of our daughter, the management of the hotel has not come to tell the community what led to her death”.

“The police is aware and have not done anything to ascertain the mystery behind our daughter’s death”.

Narrating how the incidents happened to newsmen at the scene(Hotel), an eyewitness and also a female staff of the hotel who gave her name as Favour Owom said she went up to  bring her  colleague her  toothpaste to use, on getting there, she saw late  happiness lying on the floor in between the bathroom and a room, holding Shower handle.

Miss Owom said on seeing happiness lying on the floor , she shouted which threw the attention of her colleagues and rushed happiness Emehara to a hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

Her words,”What happened that day was that my colleague asked me to help her with toothpaste. As I reached there to get the toothpaste, I saw happiness lying on the floor in between the bathroom and a room, holding that shower handle, so I started shouting, our colleagues rushed and carry her to the hospital, where they said she was dead”.

Also, another eyewitness who also gave his as Uche Kanu who claimed he lodged in the hotel when the incident happened, said he heard people shouting and he rushed out to take glimpse of what was happenning, as he went to the scene, he saw staff of the hotel conveying late happiness to hospital.

Kanu said when he got there and inquired what happened, he was told that the deceased was electrocuted while bathing with shower handle.

He narrated,”My brother, I was at the upstair, I heard voices, shouting off the light, off the light, as I got there and i asked what was the problem, I was told that the deceased was electrocuted while bathing with shower handle”.

It was also gathered that the irate community members destroyed some part of the hotel. Investigation is ongoing to unravel the cause of the death of Miss Happiness Emehara.
