A ‘miracle baby’, who weighed just 1lb 6oz (745grams) at birth, has just celebrated being six months old.

Oscar King was born at 27 weeks and was classified as a ‘micro-preemie’ – a description given to the smallest and earliest premature babies.

He was delivered by emergency Caesarean section at Chelsea Childrens Hospital, in London, because his mum Katy King had placenta insufficiency.

Doctors didn’t expect the baby to survive but he has now turned six months and has even visited his home in Deepcut, Camberley, for the first time.
‘The doctors here have been incredible,’ Mrs King, 25, said.

She added: ‘Oscar is a miracle and the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) kept our baby alive.
‘It wasn’t pleasant having some of the conversations we had to have with doctors.
‘There were points where we thought we would never be able to take him home.'
