Federal Government Reacts To Late Moji Olaiya's Death

Nigerian government has mourned the passing of Moji Olaiya.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, described the sudden death of the popular actress as a big loss, especially to her family, the movie industry and indeed all her friends and admirers.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Segun Adeyemi, the Minister said he “received the news of Moji’s untimely death with rude shock and disbelief.

“The contributions of the late actress to the growth of the burgeoning Nollywood will never be forgotten”.

Mohammed prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, and for strength and comfort to her family and friends.


​Moji ​Olaiya, 42, who delivered a baby in Canada in March, died in a hospital in that country last Thursday.

Moji Olaiya, in an Instagram post just days before her passing, wrote: “Allhamdulilahi to you Allah I give all the glory for all you have done. I will forever praise and worship you”.


“It’s not by power but the Grace of Allah. Thank you for the gift of life. Thanks also to all my friends and family my fans for your supports and prayers. Love you all.”
