Arsenal’s momentum will carry them into an unfriendly match-up at bet365 stadium, home of Stoke City, a team that has always managed to give Arsenal fits.  With no wiggle room to speak of, here are three crucial things to watch for in our last away match up. Let’s start with No. 3.

1. Structured Chaos

I admit the back three has its flaws – Tottenham showed the world – but forget that for a second and let’s keep talking about what makes the back three great for Arsenal. For one, it puts less pressure on the midfield to hold back and always consider what needs to be done to help the defense. Second, with one less player further up the pitch, players like Ramsey are given more space to run up.

So when watching this weekend’s game, try to observe the spacing on the pitch. Really notice where the Arsenal players are at any given moment because you will see that with a back three, Arsenal is now more structured at the back and there is more space up front for creative freedom.

2. Second Chances

Many times, one man’s misfortunes are another man’s opportunities.  It sounds terrible but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain‘s injury is now Hector Bellerin‘s second chance. We began the season with a few certainties. Sanchez is amazing, Ozil is polarizing and Bellerin is the next great Gunner right back.

Joking aside, Bellerin is a great talent, he has shown us that he is able to use his speed to push the ball up but also recover in defense. Maybe it is the Barcelona players texting him throughout the year, but Bellerin hasn’t been the same this year. He has become more careless and his crosses, less precise.

However, he is now given an opportunity to regain Wenger’s trust and remind us fans why we were so scared of him leaving for Barcelona.

Bellerin will definitely be someone I pay extra attention to in the coming games. His success is vital to the future of the team. This side is a much better squad when Bellerin can utilize his speed to attack and defend down the right side.
